Announcement of a New JATCO Manufacturing Facility in China
JATCO Ltd (President & CEO: Shigeo Ishida, Headquartered
in Fuji City, Shizuoka, Japan, Paid-up Capital: 29.9353 billion yen) is pleased to announce the establishment of a new 100% owned subsidiary at Guangzhou, People's Republic of China. JATCO will invest approximately 6 billion yen to build a new production site of steel-belt Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs).
This will be JATCO's second overseas production site, following first overseas subsidiary, JATCO Mexico, S.A. de C.V. (President: Katsufumi Ito, Headquartered in Aguascalientes City, Aguascalientes State).
JATCO expects to begin producing steel-belt CVTs in 2009
at new plant in China. The initial production capacity will be around 140,000 units/year. Future increase of production capacity is anticipated depending on growing demand.
This new plant will establish a manufacturing base in China. By setting up a new plant in China, JATCO is aiming at further expansion of the sales of AT/ CVTs in China market and its surrounding area where big growth potential lies, and that leads to JATCO's further growth and globalization.
JATCO started production of steel-belt CVTs in 1997 and
has become one of the largest volume producers of CVTs
in the world. JATCO will fully utilize its both technical and manufacturing expertise on CVT for the launch of this new plant in China.
