Like for the entire Bosch Group, innovative technologies and sustainability are centrally important for Bosch in the Netherlands. In 2011, the company invested more than 90 million euros for research and development activities in six Dutch competence centers. These cover a broad range of technologies from all three Bosch business sectors. For Automotive Technology, Bosch Transmission Technology in Tilburg develops steel pushbelts for CVT (Continuously Variable Transmissions systems). In the field of Industrial Technology, Bosch Rexroth in Boxtel develops cylinder technology for industrial and maritime & offshore applications, and Robert Bosch Packaging Technology in Weert works on solutions for vertical form, fill and seal machines. As for the Consumer Goods and Building Technology sector, Bosch Security Systems in Eindhoven is developing video systems and public address solutions, while Bosch Thermotechnology in Deventer specializes in wall hung condensing boilers, and Skil Europe in Breda develops electric power tools. Major manufacturing facilities are located in Tilburg, Boxtel, Deventer, Weert and Schiedam.
